Lament is a musical inspired by a classic horror tale whose story has been ripped straight from pages and film like razors through flesh. It could be spewed to the stage in full musical glory in the tradition of such productions as Rent and Riverdance. Lament maintains its focus on the humanity of the characters while leaving plenty of room for large song and dance numbers featuring a chorus of dancing evil tormentors and skinless corpses.

Excerpt from "The Conductor of Desperate Souls:" D. John Hayes
The measure of the true musician is based neither on speed nor on technical precision. Rather, it is defined by the tear in the eye, the racing heart, the rapturous smile. It is a strange process by which a musician comes to master the craft. First, the musician must become as one with the instrument – such that the ability to perform becomes as natural as speaking. It is not to say that it requires proficiency of the art. It simply requires an eloquence of voice. One need not be a master of a language to express an emotion – only the confidence and compassion to do so. It is the same with music. When performers truly become one with their instrument, it is then that they can tear open their souls and let them flow into a new voice.
It takes great courage to share the desperate voice of one’s soul with the world. It takes strength beyond measure to lead that choir – to be
The Conductor of Desperate Souls.
